Dear Member,

 
Having been part of the Bradford Insurance market for nearly 30 years (26 of which working locally for Aviva Insurance) and worked on the Insurance Institute of Bradford Council for nearly 15 years I feel equipped to help drive the continued and necessary improvements in the services the Bradford Institute provides.
 
The local Insurance Institute will only continue if it effectively supports the needs of its members and through its professional and social activities promote the benefits of the Institute to attract new members and encourage existing members to join council. This will then help to continually improve that provision.
 
I am fortunate that I can develop the excellent work lead by David Codling last year in providing professional lectures that are bringing much wider support and having encouraged 4 additional members of council I am very keen they enjoy their new roles and introduce fresh ideas and thinking. We need more than ever ensure our activities meet the needs of members of all ages.
 
It is also very timely that we are able to engage and draw on the national institutes centenary celebrations but also through our 2012-13 programme take the opportunity to recognise and celebrate this the 90th year of the Insurance Institute of Bradford.
