Welcome to the Insurance Institute of Brighton's website.
Founded in 1912, our Institute has a long history of serving our members by providing support and benefit through a range of talks, seminars and other events each year.
The Brighton Institute is one of the largest local Insurance Institutes in the country and has members throughout the whole of Sussex, having joined forces with Eastbourne, Horsham and Worthing Institutes in recent years. Following the merger between the CII and Personal Finance Society, we have also welcomed their local members into our fold. Today, we have well over 2000 members most of whom remain actively involved in the Insurance Industry.
One of the duties of a local Institute is to encourage and promote educational activities. We are fortunate in having two examination centres under our Institute, in Brighton and in Horsham and these are well utilised. We will continue to work closely with the Business School at the University of Brighton, where we have been involved in assessing students’ work and providing input into the business curriculum.
The programme of activities in the forthcoming year aims to include a series of topical lectures, plus some well-established and popular social events. I would encourage you to attend these and to give us your feedback as to whether they met your needs. If you have any comments, I would welcome hearing from you.
