Part of the role of the Guildford Insurance Institute is to recognise and highlight some of the excellent talent in our industry.
This year we had a number of outstanding applications for our annual Young Achiever of the Year Award and selected 4 exceptional finalists to join us at the Guildford Chartered Insurance Institute’s annual dinner:

- Andy Marlow (YOUR Insurance / Towergate)
- Sumit Sethi (Allianz Retail)
- Helen Unitt (Allianz Commercial)

Each our finalists demonstrated going above and beyond the demands of their daily role to contribute to their respective businesses and the wider Guildford insurance industry. They have shown drive to progress while maintaining professionalism of the highest standards, striving to develop networks and give back to others through training and support.
Choosing the winner of our 2012 young achiever award from the other finalists was a particularly hard decision. However at the Annual Dinner we were delighted to announce our winner – Andy Marlow (YOUR Insurance / Towergate).
Andy’s application demonstrated innovation, challenging the accepted and pushing for change, driving morale and performance. As well as displaying a desire to progress himself Andy showed active support for his colleagues, encouraging them to achieve their professional qualifications. In summing up his contribution his manager stated he had “transformed his business area in respect of culture, team morale, calibre of staff and ultimately financial performance”.
