Dear Member,

When embarking upon my first year as President of the Insurance Institute of Peterborough in 2009, I never thought that I’d be continuing the role into 2010 and beyond!

As a Council, we have decided to build a solid succession plan for the future and, even without bribery from me, I was re-elected for a further term. I must add though, I’m delighted.

I feel that we have some good ideas to make our Institute more vibrant and meaningful and, as mentioned previously, I am always willing to listen to new ideas put forward by you, our membership.

For those that attended the Annual Dinner back in February, you would have seen the new format. Following the extremely positive feedback received, we will continue with this format for the next dinner on 4th February 2011.

The syllabus programme we’ve scheduled should have something for everyone so please try and find time to support the sessions. All the educational talks take place at lunchtime with food and drink provided and the vast majority of the events are hosted at HC Solicitors, utilising the excellent facilities there. They have also become great networking opportunities.

The Charity Quiz and Race Night continue to be popular with ever-increasing attendances so we’ve been able to provide some real benefit to our chosen charity, Sue Ryder Care.

Above all, this is your Institute so if you would like to offer suggestions and feedback, or indeed become involved on Council, then please feel free to contact me.
