Speaker Profile:

Derek is a leading insurance lawyer involved in cutting edge litigation. His expertise is in policy interpretation arising from mesothelioma claims, environmental litigation, product liability and construction cases, including a wide experience of group litigation cases

  • Will gain an understanding of the basic provisions of the legislation which came into force on1 August 2016;
  • Will learn the principles of the concept of the date liability incurred and the challenges to the conventional approach;
  • Issues in contribution claims in asbestos related cancer claims and application of the Civil Liability(Contribution) Act 1978 plus possible relevance of Zurich v International Energy Group ( Supreme Court 2015.)
