The Objectives of the day are:

• To provide an overview of early, initial claims and investigations in the major loss arena.

• To provide awareness about the difficulties of liability investigations and the need for early up-front investigations into major losses.

• To promote awareness of the benefits as well as the limitations of other media (CCTV dash/cams etc) in determining civil liability.

• To provide information about how the customer fits into major loss investigations and the opportunities to provide excellent customer service.

By the end of the talk delegates should:

• Have gained a greater understanding of initial and early claim investigations in the major loss arena

• Understand the opportunities an insurer has to provide great customer service in the major loss arena

Gavin has worked in insurance for 3 years. He joined on the Allianz claims graduate scheme in 2012. Initially working as a motor claims handler in Bristol dealing with motor personal injury claims up to £25,000 for 18 months, Gavin then moved to Manchester to handle motor personal injury claims valued between £25,000 and £100,000 as a Senior claims handler for 6 months before returning to Bristol in October 2014 when he joined the Major loss team as a claims controller, handling a mixture of motor personal injury, casualty personal injury and third party property damage claims valued in excess of £100,000. Gavin became ACII qualified in 2015.
