CII 100KM for 100 years

Our biggest charity fundraiser of the year is normally our annual dinner in December and 2020 was due to be extra special as it is the 100th anniversary of our institute being established. Due to obvious reasons, we couldn't hold the get together this year. As President, I would normally choose a charity of my choice to raise money for and money would be raised throughout the evening. With this in mind, I wanted to recognise the centenary by raising funds for charity at the same time... and running off some mince pies.

During the month of December, I ran over 100km for 100 years of Cambridge CII, 110km to be precise. My fellow council member Mark Hassall also took part by cycling 146km. We raised money for Cancer Research UK. Over recent years, several family members have battled cancer and so this is a cause very close to my heart. All donations are really appreciated by us both and Cancer Research UK.

Over £1500 has been raised so far. If you would like to donate, please visit the JustGiving page at
