President's Message

The new Cardiff council, 2016-17 will be implementing a delivery plan which will aim to deliver member benefits within the financial services and general insurance context. The dedication and enthusiasm of our forward thinking council will ensure the support we offer including events, student support, workshops and CPD opportunities are as effective as possible. We are keen to actively engage with our younger members including a revamp of the successful YPG, which will include a mentoring scheme.

Our aims over during the next twelve months are:

Raise the status of Insurance, Financial Services, those who work within our industry and the CII; Deliver and engaging and quality event programme; Develop and promote Women in Insurance and Financial Services within our area: Work with local professional bodies and organisations with common aims, arranging joint events and sharing information; Work with Universities and other educational institutions to raise awareness of Insurance and financial services as a career choice; Grow and encourage networking and sharing of best practice with non-members and members alike;

We will be focused on engaging with the wider Financial Services and Insurance community in the Cardiff, providing support for our local members and aim to engage and share best practice by providing events, access to knowledge and opportunities to network. Our strategic programme of quality events can be found here and includes new speakers and a diverse range of topics; market sector specific events, workshops and seminars under the CII CPD programme for all those working within the GI and FS sector to develop their knowledge and skill set. There will also be the launch of our inaugural Young Achievers Dinner in September to celebrate our young talent coming through.
