Wednesday, 13 May 2015
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)

The IASG provided an overview of Employers Liability in the UK today, with an emphasis on the differences between Scotland and England.

By attending this event delegates were able to identify:

  • Employers Liability exposures and how they are changing in the 21st Century
  • The differences in the underwriting environments between Scotland and the rest of the UK (especially England)
  • he economic and human costs of injury and ill health.

The presentation was delivered by Steve Adcock and Steve Maguire both of whom are from QBE’s European Centre in London.

Combined they have a total of 73 years’ experience in Employers Liability and still find that the trends and claims context are continually challenging.

Steve Adcock began his career with Iron Trades in London in 1979. He now handles many large corporate clients for QBE. He is widely regarded in QBE as the “go to” EL expert. Steve holds a HND in Business Studies and is NEBOSH qualified.

Steve Maguire has held a variety of senior positions in the industry, always specialising in liability insurance working in both Head Office and branch roles throughout the UK. He has an MA, is an Associate of the CII and is a keen supporter of education and training within the insurance profession.
