Health and Safety Mock Trial

The Insurance and Actuarial Society of Glasgow is happy to announce that their next CPD event will be a health and safety mock trial.

The event will take place on Tuesday 14th November – instead of our normal Wednesday events.

Brodies will present an interactive seminar involving a ‘mini’ health and safety mock trial based on a fictional work-place accident. The event was run for the IASG young professional group last year.

Learning objectives: By attending this event delegates will be able to identify:

  • How a typical health & safety trial is conducted;
  • What to expect as a witness giving evidence; and
  • Practical tips to avoid finding yourself, your business or your client, in the dock

Brodies health and safety team investigate serious and fatal accidents which may result in HSE prosecution and represent clients at fatal accident inquiries and in the defence of such prosecution, including attendance during HSE interviews. The team also provide compliance advice to clients as well as assisting with drafting and reviewing health and safety policies. The trial will be presented by the following members of the team:
