We are delighted to welcome as our lunch-time speaker for November, Paul May. Paul is a busy practicing international loss adjuster, expert witness and risk consultant. His specialist interests include property, catastrophe, arson & business inte rruption. He is Chairman of Concordia Consultancy Ltd, which provides claims adjusting, compliance, dispute resolution and risk consultancy services for companies worldwide.

Paul is a Chartered Loss Adjuster, a Fellow of the CII, a Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management, holds a law degree, an MBA and has completed post graduate diplomas in Advance Insurance Studies and Management Consultancy. He ha worked in industry and the insurance world for 44 years and has lived and worked all over the world. Paul has been actively in involved in catastrophe claims and audits arising from hurricane, earthquake, tsunami, tornados, terrorism and flood. Concordia adjusted the majority if "Boxing day Tsunami" claims in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and claim managed approximately US$5bn of property & business interruption claims arising from the 2011 Thai floods for the largest Japanese insurer based in Thailand. He has worked in active civil war zones and deal t with losses from most insured (and uninsured) perils including aviation crashes, armed bank robberies, terrorism, arson, as well as claims that were shown to arise from faked detah and injury. Paul has also worked on many mining and energy claims.

Talk topic: Future trends for risk analysis, claims handling, reserving, and achieving prompt yet economic resolution of claims.

The talk will take place at Moore's Hotel Wednesday 9 November at 12.30pm, (£11 for members of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey and £13 for non-members, including lunch) Do remember that the attendance fee is payable whether lunch is taken or not. Please feel free to encourage non-member colleagues to attend should this be an area of interest but, please note, members of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey will receive priority in the event of capacity being reached.

Attendance will provide 30 minutes of Structured CPD under the Chartered Insurance Institute's CPD scheme.
