June Lunch

Best Western Moores Hotel
Wednesday, 14 June 2017
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)

Our June speaker is Glen Le Cheminant from East Harbour Associates.

Glen is a Senior Consultant for East Harbour Associates, a Guernsey based management consultancy specialising in strategy, risk and performance management. Glen joined the organisation early in 2017 to help set up a specific GDPR practice, and this has seen significant engagement within the local finance industry since its inception.

Glen has obtained a wealth of IT experience throughout his 35 year career working in both the private and public sectors. The latter years have seen him specialise in Information Security, for which he holds the much sought after CISSP qualification. He also specialises in Data Protection and recently became an EU GDPR Practitioner.

Glen will give us an overview of The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), an EU Directive which will be taking effect from 25 May 2018. As Guernsey is actively pursuing the development of a revised Data Protection Legislation in order to retain adequacy within the EU, organisations must ensure they are compliant. Glen will provide information on the scope and requirements of the Directive, including responsibility, accountability and potential associated sanctions.
