Preparing for and passing CII Certificate in General Insurance Business (non-life)

In this workshop, we shall look at gaining the CII Certificate in the course of a few weeks or months by studying Insurance Foundation One (insurance, legal and regulatory), Insurance Foundation Three (insurance, underwriting process) and Insurance Foundation Four (insurance claims handling process). We shall work on how to study, how to learn and how to recall CII material, and some techniques for answering multiple-choice questions quickly and correctly.

We’ll aim to talk through some technical topics that recur in many CII exams, such as common law, statute law, the Consumer Insurances (Disclosure and Representations) Act 2012, the Insurance Act 2015, Utmost Good Faith, Indemnity, Insurable Interest, Subrogation and Contribution, Proximate Cause and some elements of Regulation.

In either session, delegates can raise any syllabus subject they wish.

We’ll be working on some sample exam papers together and will polish our abilities to identify exactly what is being asked in order to answer multiple-choice questions under pressure.

Our Tutor for the day is Rod Smith FCII FCILA, who has coached CII exam subjects across the UK and abroad for many years, based on his practical experience of handling property and casualty losses for both insurers and brokers.
