Webinar - Everyone Counts!
Sam Sims, Chief Executive, National Numeracy
Sam joined National Numeracy in 2020 to lead a new strategy for the organisation.
He brings a range of experience in helping to scale-up the reach and impact of charities. He was the Chief Operating Officer at social work charity, Frontline, and previously served as Director of Development at Teach First and as an Assistant Director of Research at the Yale University Office of Development.

A shocking 49% of adults in the UK have the numeracy level expected of a primary school child. This increases vulnerability to debt, fraud, financial exclusion and unemployment, and contributes to up to £25 billion each year in lost earnings.
National Numeracy is a charity with a mission to empower adults and children to get on with numbers so they can fulfil their potential. Since 2012, the charity has supported more than half a million people across the UK.
The webinar will introduce the issue of low numeracy in the UK, as well as the work and impact of National Numeracy towards addressing it.
- Attendees will learn about:
- The numeracy issue in context: causes, comparisons, implications and impact.
- Numeracy levels in North East England.
- The role of numeracy in relation to financial inclusion, literacy, wellbeing and behaviour.
- A decade of insight from National Numeracy.
- A vision for improving numeracy levels in the UK.
