The Insurance Institute of Inverness, The Highlands and Islands next CPD session will focus on Flexible Reversionary Trusts and the advantages/disadvantages of this type of arrangement.

Learning objectives

By attending the event delegates will be able to identify:

  • How Flexible Reversionary Trusts can be used to mitigate Inheritance Tax and aid Estate Planning.
  • The differences between Flexible Reversionary Trusts and Gift/Discounted Gift Trusts
  • The different roles each may fulfil in Estate Planning.
  • The practical applications of the Flexible Reversionary Trust and the benefits to both the Settlor and Beneficiaries.

Cathy Russell FPFS TEP, Tax and Estate Planning Consultant from Canada Life will deliver the session.

Cathy has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years with experience in both professional adviser and provider marketplaces, specialising in taxation, trusts, estate planning and delivering training. She is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, a Chartered Financial Planner and a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP).
