    • Laura Bouttell, Managing Director, Quarterdeck

The Insurance Institute of Leeds is proud to announce the launch of ‘The New Generation Leadership Programme’ which will be delivered by Quarterdeck a market leading development and coaching business.

This is aimed at the new generation of leaders (primarily under 35 years old) and would be an ideal fit for people recently appointed to a management or team leader role, managers who want to develop and hone their leadership skills or people who aspire to reach leadership positions in their career path. Even if this isn’t something that you are interested in yourself we would encourage people to consider whether there is anyone else within their business who would benefit from this wonderful opportunity.

The programme is made up of six masterclasses, each one running between 2-3 hours. These will be interactive workshops with a maximum of 15 attendees. The sessions are free to attend but booking will be essential as slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. The six topics will be:

• Session 1: Understanding leadership
• Session 2: Getting the important stuff done
• Session 3: Developing and maintaining a positive mindset
• Session 4: Making a killer first impression
• Session 5: Feedback - The single most important skill in self development
• Session 6: Having difficult conversations

Booking for each session will be released around a month prior to the session and slots will be filled on a first come first served basis (with a maximum of 2 attendees per business). While the session is free to attend non attendance once booked will be charged.

Laura is the Managing Director of the highly successful Leadership and Executive Development business Quarterdeck. She is passionate about inspiring people and she has made it her mission in life to empower people to become their best. Laura has 3 degrees, 2 of which are from Oxford University. She is a published author and editor in the competitive field of academia. She seeks out new challenges, whether personal, academic or in the world of business. She knows what it’s like to feel challenged, but uses the adrenalin to motivate herself and others, pushing across the finish line, wherever, and whatever that might mean.
Apart from her time in the academic world, Laura has also worked for the Police in Chapeltown, Leeds. Being promoted quickly from street bobby through to murder incident inquiries, Laura qualified as Sergeant in as short a time as is possible and was about to be promoted when she left to start her own Interior Design business. Laura built her own Interior Design company from scratch and worked on substantial projects, which involved managing large teams in order to bring jobs in on time and on budget. She featured on television, on the Home show and Relocation Relocation Relocation, and in magazines such as 25 Beautiful Homes, Country House and Yorkshire Life on a regular basis.
As a result of her time in Chapeltown, then building and running her own business and her time at Oxford, Laura has seen the gritty side of life as well as the ivory towers and uses her experiences in these diverse fields to help you achieve your dreams.
