The presentation will focus on the early stages of a major loss and the investigations which ensue.

It will outline the initial activity but of interest to you will be the screening, background searches they do - why they do them.

To go with this will be some funny (or not so funny) stories on the things they discover at this stage.

Kevin Dinsdale BSc LL.B (Hons) MRICS ACILA - Regional Director - Crawfords

Kevin’s career started as a Quantity Surveyor initially with a major Building Contractor before joining a Private Practice where he achieved full Chartered Status. He joined the Loss Adjusting Profession in 1995 as a Surveyor in the Major Loss team before progressing to Team Leader and becoming a Chartered Loss Adjuster. He is now Regional Director for the Midlands Major Loss Team at Crawford and Company.

Kevin looks after key Local Authority and High Net Worth accounts. He has presented to CILA members on building related topics. He also specialises in Real Estate, Educational and Commercial Claims with valuable overseas experience.

Geraldine.O'Donoghue - Fraud Investigator - Crawfords

Geraldine joined Crawfords in 2010. Geraldine has spent a number of years in the fraud area of Insurance, having both working internally identifying suspicious claims, and then moving to the field to investigate. Over her career however she did diversify to expand her knowledge, having worked for HMRC as a VAT Inspector, obtaining a full understanding of business accounting requirements, and spending some time with a bank investigating credit card, and impersonation fraud
