Investing in Renewable Energy

Evelyn Partners Offices
Friday, 27 February 2015
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)

Investors like investments they understand and few investments are easier to understand than a wind or hydropower turbine – so, other than simplicity, what are the benefits of investing in this market?
Renewable energy has long been an attractive investment opportunity due to government subsidised income as well as potential tax incentives. As EIS qualification for renewable energy projects attracting cost subsidies comes to an end, Deepbridge will look at what this means in the short term and longer term both from the perspective of investors and the UK green energy market as a whole.
Post-RDR, there is increasing pressure for independent advisers to be able to demonstrate understanding of products outside their core investment philosophy. The target audience is financial planners and wealth managers who may require ancillary investment options to supplement their core investment philosophy.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the event, delegates will be able to:
•achieve a clearer understanding of the potential benefits of investing in renewable energy projects as an ancillary offering to a core investment philosophy
•compare and assess the tax-efficient investment space and the opportunities to potentially mitigate risk when considering investment in this area.
•identify legitimate HMRC approved opportunities which serve the intended purpose of encouraging investment in UK projects/businesses.
