‘BREXIT’ Debate: IN or OUT?

We would like to invite you to join us at the next Weightmans Wednesday event where we will host a debate on the United Kingdom’s membership of the European Union ahead of the referendum on 23 June 2016.

We will hear from a key speaker from Britain Stronger in Europe known as “Stronger in” which been chosen as the official lead campaign to make the case for the UK to remain in the European Union. We will also hear from UKIP, the political party campaigning for the UK to leave.

The debate, chaired by the Head of Weightmans Liverpool office, Nick Peel, will be structured to focus on distinct issues such as Security, Trade & Jobs, Immigration, Sovereignty, Democracy/Accountability, Health Tourism, Cost of Membership and Britain’s Place in the World.

There will be live polling during the debate as guests are invited to vote on each issue as to whether they are “IN” or “OUT”.

We hope that you will be able to join us for what will be an informative and stimulating evening that will provide a greater understanding as to what the referendum issues are for Liverpool.

Weightmans Wednesday is a bi-monthly event that aims to showcase the city’s business and cultural assets and latest developments. The atmosphere is relaxed and food and drink is provided to accompany the speaker of note. We have previously heard from Citybike, FACT, The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Giants Spectacular, the Everyman Theatre, Independent Liverpool, Culture Liverpool and the Liverpool Film Office.
