During this event we will be hearing from a panel of speakers from every sector concerned with cyber security including representatives from Industry, Insurance, Crime and Prevention.

With increasingly sophisticated attacks and despite a growth in data breaches a recent survey found that companies were too confident about their cyber protection with only 36% carrying out regular cyber security risk assessments. Sophos Group plc is an English security software and hardware company. They began producing antivirus and encryption products nearly 30 years ago and their products help secure the networks used by 100 million people in 150 countries and 100,000 businesses.

Matt Sumpter, UK Underwriting Director - Technology and Cyber Risks, CNA Hardy

Matt leads CNA Hardy’s Technology and Cyber risk business unit in the UK. Managing a team of underwriters, he is primarily responsible for developing and executing a strategy that supports profitable growth. With over 25 years’ industry experience, Matt’s insurance career began at RSA within the commercial insurance area, working in a number of roles including underwriting, business development and training, followed by an account manager role at Travelers. Matt is a founding member of CRIF (Cyber Risk and Insurance Forum).

Richard McBarnet, Managing Director, Lumina Technologies

Richard founded Lumina Technologies, an IT Service Provider, in 1998. His company won 'Commercial Business in the Community' award in the 2017 Hertfordshire Business Awards and 'Excellence in Customer Service' award at the Inspiring Herts Awards. Richard is also IoD Hertfordshire's Cyber Security Ambassador and speaks regularly regarding GDPR and Cyber Security.

Rebecca Tinsley and Samantha Allen, Cyber Protect Coordinators, Eastern Region Specialist Operations Unit (ERSOU) Rebecca and Samantha have over 20 years’ combined experience working in different levels of policing and have experience in implementing strategic developments and projects both locally and regionally to reduce the impact of cybercrime. They are currently developing partnerships with business and academia to further improve both local and regional responses to Cyber threats, and help better protect victims of crime. They each hold a Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP) and are further trained in network security to Sec+ level.
