LAW OF TORTS IN A NUTSHELL
All too often we overthink principles of tort law and we get confused by the raft of cases that exist in this area of law. In turn, we confuse ourselves and our customers in the way we explain and apply those principles of law. In this session, we will strip the law of torts back to basics and demystify the confusion. We will learn how to explain the law in a simple and clear way and how to apply the case law to real-life scenarios. Areas that we will examine include: Negligence: the duty of care, breach of duty, causation and remoteness Occupiers’ liability Employers’ liability General defenses and remedies in the law of torts.

Enabling Womens Careers - 8th May - The Heroine's Journey
Join us for this months Enabling Women's Careers Session. An exploration into the heroine's journey, This session will be live online on Zoom. It will not be recorded as we aim to create an environment as close to an in person session as possible which is safe space for members to express themselves, network and grow. These sessions are for all levels of PFS and CII and future topics will be established from member feedback within the group. The sessions are facilitated by Caroline who is a Certified Coach and NLP Trainer, however, these sessions are an exploration for all and so please bring your top tips to share with other members of the group and be open to explore and encourage each other. An overview of commercial package insurance
This webinar will provide a practical look into the various sections of a typical commercial package insurance policy, what is covered and what protection a commercial customer actually obtains, so that brokers, underwriters and claims staff alike can be confident when explaining the different sections of cover. The reality is, that many commercial customers do not always appreciate the breadth of their cover, and as such the discussion tends to too often focus on price rather than cover and quality. This webinar will look to put the onus back on the essentials of cover and quality so that customers can make informed decisions. The presentation will be provided by Alan Chandler, one of the most popular speakers within the UK, and Alan in his usual plain English style will outline the main areas of cover, the history of package insurance and how sums insured should be correctly set. The webinar will be suitable for anyone working with commercial package insurance be they brokers, underwriters or claims staff.
