This presentation will cover the Bank of England's most recent assessment of the UK economy and the factors that impact upon it. The Agencies work as the Bank's 'eyes and ears' and are an important channel of communication between the Bank, businesses and the general public.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this session delegates will be able to :
-Describe the role of the Bank of England
-Summarise the current and immediate future economic environment in the UK
-Describe the current view of interest rate pressures and the inflation outlook
-Discuss the current prospects of some asset classes, such as property
-Understand some of the differences between the economic performance of the North East and the rest of the UK

Speaker Biography
Andrew joined the Bank in the summer of 2013 from the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) where he was Assistant Director for the North East. Prior to joining the CBI, Andrew spent 11 years in regional journalism at newspapers in Yorkshire, Scotland and the North East, latterly as Assistant Editor and Head of Business at the Journal in Newcastle
