Introducing the Ombudsman

Time: 12pm - 1pm including buffet lunch pre-lecture

This event will provide an overview of the Ombudsman service, touching on its role, jurisdiction, workload and looking in greater depth at how it works with both businesses and consumers to settle complaints and resolve disputes - so that both sides can move on.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, delegates will be able to discuss:
-The 'theory' of the Ombudsman - its position and role
-How complaints are handled - process and possible outcomes
-How the Ombudsman can help businesses resolve complaints themselves

Speaker Biography
Laura studied economic history at the University of Glasgow and has experience of the charity sector as well as working as a debt adviser for the Citizens Advice. Laura joined the Ombudsman in January 2013, spending 18 months as an adjudicator in PPI before joining the outreach team
