This is a public speaking seminar with a difference. It is not dry and theoretical. It is fun, practical and interactive. It will focus on how to get the attention of an audience, how to keep their attention and then, if appropriate, persuade them to your way of thinking. The techniques taught can be applied to a variety of situations an insurance professional may encounter, from presenting ideas to a small group in a meeting, through to presentations for new business or larger lecture style scenarios where you may be addressing a large number of people. This seminar will teach you skills on how to include interaction patterns in the way you deliver what it is you need to get across, through to the language you can use to persuade others if that is your ultimate aim.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the seminar you will be able to :

  • understand the need to properly plan and have a strategy for delivering a speech and the different styles of presentation
  • recognise the importance of grading language appropriately for the target audience
  • identify the need for effective interaction patterns so as to activate thinking and hold an audience's attention
  • build a rapport with their target audience so as to be able to influence the way the listeners are thinking
