The Insurance Institute of Perth & Dundee is happy to announce that their next technical event will be entitled ‘Broker Beware’

While trying to manage and insure against risk on behalf of their clients, insurance brokers bear a lot of risk themselves from the extensive suite of duties they owe.

Join Alisdair Matheson and Louise Kelso from Brodies LLP as he guides you through the worst of the minefield, guides you through worked examples and then offers advice on how to avoid ending up a statistic.

Learning objectives

At the end of this event, the delegate will be able to identify:

  • knowledge of duties incumbent upon insurance brokers
  • situations where breaches may arise
  • ways of avoiding breaches and limiting liability.

Alisdair Matheson is a partner in the Insurance and Risk unit of Brodies’ top ranked litigation team. His practice consists mainly of litigating on professional negligence actions, many of which involve the construction industry. He has almost 20 years of commercial litigation experience and is accredited by the Law Society as a specialist in construction law and professional negligence. He is an active member of the IASG and the CII.

Louise Kelso is an Associate in the professional indemnity team within Brodies’ Insurance & Risk unit.
