The Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute of Perth and Dundee is happy to announce that their next event will comprise an AF7 Exam Study Workshop hosted by John Reynolds from Expert Pensions, at the Aviva Pitheavlis premises.

John Reynolds has over 25 years’ experience as a pension practitioner, providing expert pension advice, consultancy and training to specialist advisory businesses across the UK.

He currently holds fellowship with the PFS, is a Chartered Financial Planner and is a Chartered Fellow of the institute of Securities and Investments. In 2017 he completed his MSc in Financial Planning and Business Management at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU).

He is an experienced pension practitioner providing specialist and technically sophisticated pension advice to businesses and individuals across the UK – known by many as the “Pensions Professor”. His specialist area is defined benefit pensions and lifestyle retirement planning using cashflow modelling tools and this extends across into the most-respected corporate organisations in the UK.

He has been providing pensions consultancy into specialist advisory businesses, as well as teaching (and passing) L6 Pensions exams for 25 years.

Learning Objectives
On attending this seminar you will understand the required standards to pass AF7 in the area of the “pre-transfer scheme analysis” covering:

  • Appropriate Pension Transfer Analysis (APTA)
  • The Transfer Value Comparator (TVC)
  • Occupational Scheme structures
  • PCLS commutations/early/late retirement factors and an overview of scheme pensions, incorporating scheme funding and protection (including PPF)
