Welcome to the Insurance Institute of Peterborough (IIP) website

2013/14 is my first of two presidential years and after 12 years on Council I consider it a real privilege to have been elected into the chair. This year we have an exceptionally strong Council comprising of talented insurance professionals from across the industry. Our Council is made up of volunteers who give their time to support and develop CII and PFS members across the East Anglia region. Taking a role on the Institute Council can provide an excellent opportunity to learn new skills, network and influence the wider CII agenda.

2013/14 promises to be a really vibrant and exciting year for the Peterborough Institute. We have a great programme of continuous professional development (CPD) events planned for members of both the CII and PFS, along with a really exciting social events calendar (this year’s golf tournament promises to be our biggest and best so far!). 

This year the IIP is introducing a new initiative and it is with great pleasure that I am able to announce the formation of the Peterborough Institute Young Professionals Group. The Group will be led by some of our newest (and youngest) Council members and will serve to directly represent the needs and interests of members under the age of 35. Click here to view the Young Professionals' page. 

During my Presidency, the Peterborough Institute will be supporting 2 charities; Guide Dogs for the Blind Association which offers people with sight loss help to get out of their homes and engage with their community, and the Peterborough Area Downs Syndrome Group, which provides support and information to parents of children with Downs Syndrome in the Peterborough area. Members of our Council have personal association with both charities, which is why we have chosen to support them for the next 2 years. 

I look forward to meeting many of you throughout my year as President and would encourage you all to get involved with your local institute in the next 12 months – we are here to serve our members.
