Kent CII Conference 2015

The event saw a 30% hike in attendance numbers with over 120 CII members gathering at the Mercure Hotel, Maidstone for what turned out to be a day packed full of continuing professional development presentations.

Guest chair for the conference, Ant Gould, director of Faculties at the CII said: “It was great to see so many members – of all ages and companies, from brokers through to underwriters – take the time out of their busy day jobs to embrace new ideas and to enhance their knowledge and understanding of wider insurance issues. The presentations also covered a lot of ground, from market challenges with Simon McGinn, Head of Commercial Insurance UK, Allianz, through cyber liability with Jillian Raw, Partner, Kennedys Law to the state of the nation with consultant and columnist Tony Cornell.

Other speakers included Graeme Trudgill, Executive Director, BIBA; Mike Marston, Divisional Director, OHES Environmental; Mel De Noronha, Outreach Officer, Financial Ombudsman Service and public speaking expert Rachel Hankey, Director, SureSpeech.”
Ray Johnson, Conference Chairman added: "A good day was had by all. The presentations were most informative, stimulating and certainly the presenters enabled us to go away with some good ideas centred around this year’s theme of ‘opportunities and the future'. We are now starting to plan for next year's event, due to be held on Thursday 10th March 2016."
