Investment Trusts: RDR - ready since 1868

Investment trusts are one of the City of London’s best kept secrets. The Government expected that one of the outcomes of the Retail Distribution Review would be less product bias and as a result, many thought the IFA community, free from the restrictions of commissions would make greater use of investment trusts in client portfolios. Whilst to a degree this has happened, to many IFAs investment trusts remain a complicated and complete mystery. Henderson, in this presentation seek to help Advisers understand:

• The structure, regulatory framework and make up of an investment trust

• How Investment Trusts differ from OEICs and Unit Trusts

• The impact of Gearing, Discounts/ Premiums and Liquidity

• The costs involved in dealing

• How Investment Trusts can be used for both Growth and Income investors

• Where advisers can find more information and inform themselves
