Blended families

Brodies
Tuesday, 09 May 2017
8:00 am – 9:30 am (UK time)

We have teamed up with Brodies to offer our next technical CPD event.

It is becoming increasingly common to be part of what is often referred to as a ‘blended family’. Couples may have children from previous marriages as well as children together. They may choose to live together and not marry, or to remarry. Through the use of practical case studies, this seminar helps guide clients and their advisors through some potentially difficult issues to resolve.

The seminar will cover aspects such as:

  • Ensuring your will accurately provides for your wishes taking into account different/competing priorities;

  • Considering trust provisions;

  • Rights for cohabitants on death and separation;

  • Powers of attorney;

  • Cohabitation agreements;

  • Pre-nuptial agreements; and

  • Protecting wealth for your children.
