The AGM also provides members with an opportunity to nominate themselves to join council. Council members are volunteers who work in the local insurance or financial services sectors. Members of all levels of experience, position and qualifications are welcome to nominate themselves. The only requirements that a member must meet in order to sit on the council is to be a CII or PFS member that is affliated to the Insurance Institute of Bristol. The IIB is specifically looking to recruit:

• Members who are interested in joining the IIB's Education Committee, a sub group of the council that is responsible for the provision of educational and CPD events to our members. Please note that you do not need to be a CII or PFS member if you wish to sit on the Education Committee.
• PFS members who can provide guidance and advice on what services and activities the institute can provide to its members operating in the financial planning and financial services sectors.

The IIB would welcome any new faces that wish to play a part in shaping the membership proposition in Bristol. Joining council is a great way of meeting your peers, developing your own profile within the city and developing new skills.
