This webinar is split into two sessions - this one and the second part which takes place the following day, 1st April. By booking your place you are committing to attend both sessions.

The webinars will discuss what risks are covered by insurance and what risks are not.

They will then explain the structure of the UK insurance industry including exploring the roles of brokers, underwriters and claims staff.

The six main legal principles of insurance will then be covered which are: insurable interest, duty not to misrepresent/fair presentation of risk, proximate cause, indemnity, subrogation and contribution.

The presentations will end up by covering the role of regulation within insurance.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the session delegates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of:

  • What type of risks are and are not insurable
  • The main roles within the insurance industry
  • The six main legal principles that underpin the insurance industry
  • The role of regulation within insurance
