Financial Awareness - A Plain English overview for all Insurance staff on how to understand Clients' accounts
Covid-19 and world events have forced the UK into a recession and understanding clients' accounts has never been more important for brokers and underwriters alike, with tremendous scrutiny now being put on clients' accounts, so account executives, account handlers, underwriters and those on the PFS side dealing with corporate accounts will need to understand the main terminology.
This presentation, provided by Alan Chandler one of the most popular presenters in the UK, looks to provide a plain English understanding of what is in a balance sheet, Profit and Loss account, a cash flow statement and how these can be read easily by non-accountants.
Alan is widely regarded as one of the most popular and respected insurance presenters in the world. He has taken thousands of people through to ACII qualification including many national prize winners, as well as delivering a vast array of technical presentations on Commercial and Personal lines insurances.
Alan's webinars have been viewed across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, North America and South America and his audience numbers last year were well over 100,000. He has devised and delivered training programmes for major insurers and brokers, including Zurich, Allianz, Aviva, Hiscox, NIG, Gallagher, Aon, Towergate, GRP, Aston Lark, James Hallam and Marsh.
Alan has undertaken operational management roles in three major global companies running underwriting, broking and claims functions. In order to fulfil a long-term ambition, he set up his own training company, something that he had always longed to do as he is passionate about training. A number of Alan’s pieces of work have been published internationally and he is regularly called upon to provide expert legal guidance on insurance matters.
Target audience: brokers, underwriters, claims staff, loss adjusters and IFA’s. It will also be very useful for anyone taking the diploma subject M92.
The presentation will enable delegates to understand:
- The different component parts of a Balance sheet and what underwriters should look for.
- The different parts of a profit and loss statement.
- What is a cash flow statement.
