The Broking & Underwriting Trade-off

We are delighted to welcome Dave Westall of Omega Training, to host this lunchtime seminar targeted at insurance staff at all levels working in the non-Life arena of both Broking and Underwriting Companies.

The workshop will look at, what Dave terms 'the Underwriting trade-off' - which is the balance that has to be sought between the volume of business underwritten and the price (or premium) that is charged.

Learning Objectives

During the workshop delegates will:

• explore the relationship between Price & Volume:

• examine the effects of Price & Volume on Underwriting Profit;

• test some 'common sense' assumptions; and

• use an excel model to study the effects of different strategies under prevailing market conditions.
