THIS IS A JOINT EVENT WITH THE CHARTERED MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE

Are you a professional women seeking to advance your career? How clear are you both about where you are heading in your career and how to get there? Also, at a deep level do you really believe in your leadership ability/potential?

Two of the Key Challenges for Women’s Career Development

  1. Many women do not have clear career milestones in mind or, if they do, are not sure about the best ways to achieve these.
  2. Often women are held back by their mindset and a deep level do not really believe in themselves as leaders or potential leaders. This can hold them back from strategic career planning in the first place.

From this session you will learn ways to overcome these challenges. These will benefit you in your own career and you may also be interested in using the approaches outlined to support the development of other women within your organisation.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will have:

  • Discovered the importance of strategic career planning and how to do this
  • Identified how leveraging your strengths is key to career success
  • Explored ways in which your mindset may be holding you back and how to overcome these and “Think Like a Leader”
  • Developed an action plan to implement your learning

Catherine Cuffley Biography
Catherine Cuffley is an executive coach and founder of Thinking Choices Limited (www.thinkingchoices.com). She specialises in working with organisations in the City of London to help them to develop their women leaders. She works with senior professional women in insurance companies, banks, management consultancies and law firms etc. to support them in achieving their next leadership position. This may be a place on the board or indeed their first leadership position and everything in between.

Catherine is the author of the forthcoming book, SHIFT: Insights from a City Coach on Succeeding as an Authentic Woman Leader and she also speaks at conferences and events, such as the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) on the application of neuroscience to leadership, amongst other topics.

Catherine has spent many years in the City in a range of Human Resources, Learning and Development and management consultancy roles. She has repeatedly seen the way in which many talented women in City organisations are not quite reaching the more senior positions they seek. This is deeply frustrating for the women themselves and means the organisations are wasting valuable resources. Catherine’s mission is to support women in fulfilling their potential and maximising their contribution whilst enabling organisations to optimise their female talent. A real win win.
