MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS IN THE WORKPLACE

Gloucester Rugby Club
Monday, 29 July 2019
12:30 pm – 1:45 pm (UK time)
    • Kay Morgan, Mental Health Trainer

1 in 4 people in the UK will experience at least one diagnosable mental health issue in any one year and Mental ill health is responsible for the largest burden of ill health in the UK. Within the workplace, at any one time 1 worker in 6 will be experiencing depression, anxiety or issues relating to stress and Mental ill health costs UK employers £34.9 billion each year.

This session has been organised by our New Generation Council and we hope will continue to give an awareness to our members of the impact of Mental Health Illness but also the factors that can led to recognition and recovery.

As a Mental Health Campaigner and MHFA England Instructor Member, our trainer Kay Morgan provides mental health awareness and skills training to a variety of organisations, businesses and communities nationally with the aim of helping people to develop the skills to look after their own and others' wellbeing and reduce the stigma associated with mental ill health.

As a highly experienced trainer, she has spent the past 20 years working with many individuals experiencing a range of Mental Health issues and in 2009 undertook four years of part time training to become a Homeopath which gave her an excellent understanding of the importance of holistic wellbeing.

At the end of the session the following learning objectives will have been covered

  • What is Mental Health?
  • Impact of Mental Ill Health
  • Mental Health Risk factors
  • Recognising distress
  • An overview of some Mental Health Conditions
  • Starting the Conversation
  • Factors which support recovery
  • Who can Help?

The session will start with a light buffet and refreshments at 12pm and the session will start at 1230pm and finish at 145pm.
