Committees

The Insurance Society of Edinburgh (ISofE) has a number of committees who all work hard to provide a full membership proposition to individuals who work within the insurance and financial services profession across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

The primary function of the Events Committee is to organise an annual program of events to accommodate the educational and CPD needs of members active in general insurance or financial services.

These events are intended to complement the central program delivered by the CII and PFS, and to meet the specific needs of our members in Scotland. We also collaborate with other professional bodies to provide events of wider interest, as well as a number of social events to facilitate networking and also to have some fun!

The Education Committee supports and promotes educational standards at a local level - the principal event in the committee’s year is always the Annual Awards Ceremony which is usually held in May to celebrate the achievements of our local members in the CII exams.

The Sports Committee aims to organise a range of sporting activities including the annual golf tournament (unfortunately suspended since covid) and The Insurance Society of Edinburgh versus Irish Institutes rugby match, which is the longest running international rugby fixture outside of the six nations.

If you are interested in becoming involved in these committees, or indeed the wider council, then please do not hesitate to get in touch with the President.
