IDD and an Update on the ABI’s Activity
The Insurance Society of Edinburgh in conjunction with PFS is pleased to announce our next CPD event on the new Insurance Distribution Directive which comes into effect October 2018.
Are you unsure if you still comply or if you need to make any changes? Join us for our seminar where Alisdair Matheson, Partner at Brodies will discuss the following:
By attending this event delegates will be able to identify:
- The origin and scope of the Insurance Distribution Directive
- Relevant UK implementing legislation
- Possible impacts on the insurance industry
In the second part, Alistair Ross from the ABI will cover the ABI’s activity in Scotland – promoting the industry with stakeholders including Government Ministers, officials, MPs and MSPs. Discussing the major legislation at the moment including the Damages Bill, Pensions Dashboard, taxation, property insurance and personal injury law reform.
Attendees will have a better understanding of the legislative and regulatory landscape for insurance and long-term savings in the Scottish market.
This demonstrates the quality of an event and that it meets CII member CPD scheme requirements.
1 hour's CPD can be claimed for this event if relevant to your learning and development needs.
It is recommended that you keep any evidence of the CPD activity you have completed and upload copies to the recording tool as the CII may ask to see this if your record is selected for review. Details of the scheme can be viewed online at www.cii.co.uk/cpd.
