Getting your act together

12:15 pm – 2:15 pm (UK time)

The Insurance Act 2015 is arguably the most important piece of legislation to impact on the industry in over a century. There has been much said about the technical aspects of the new law but little training, if any, has been devoted towards the soft skills that insurance professionals will need to improve in order to comply with its key provisions.

The new transparency requirements under section 17 mean that plain language is more important than ever and the duty to carry out further enquiries under section 3 means that questioning and information gathering techniques have never been so important. This session focuses on these key skills.

This session begins by providing an introduction to the duties set out under sections 3 and 17 in particular. There is then a focus on the key skills that insurance professionals will need in order to ensure they stay on the right side of the new law.

This is a fun and interactive seminar that includes role play and enables participants to practise their drafting skills.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the seminar, participants will be able to:

  • understand the key duties placed on insurance professionals under sections 3 and 17 of the Insurance Act 2015.
