A Background to Cyber and Claims Handling

The IASG Professional Development Group are happy to announce that their next lunchtime seminar will focus on Cyber claims (including some recent cases studies) and will be presented by Mark Hawksworth, Global Technology Specialist at Sedgwick International UK.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the session, delegates with have an understanding on:

  • An Introduction to Cyber
  • Attack Vectors
  • Threat actors
  • Cyber marketplace

Session includes case studies.

Speaker Biography:

Mark heads up Sedgwick’s Global Technology Practice, he has been an adjuster for 29 years during which time he has gained substantial experience of technology and cyber related incidents.
He is an active member of the Business Emergency Resilience Group (BERG), their objective is to ensure that UK businesses are resilient against cyber and flood events.

Mark specialises in handling large and complex claims and uses experience gained from managing cyber events to provide market feedback on this ever evolving risk. Mark and his team won the British Insurance, Major Loss Award in 2019 for their management of a complex cyber incident.

Mark has published numerous articles in the Insurance press on Cyber related issues, he is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner, Chartered Loss adjuster and a Chartered Engineer.
