Best Western Moores Hotel
Wednesday, 12 October 2016
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)

Our October speaker will be Richard Nicholson, an Executive Director & Head of Fine Art - UK & Europe for Willis Towers Watson, based in London. His work has become his passion as he is able to merge his love of fine art with his career in insurance through providing risk management and insurance solutions to some of the largest and finest museums and private collections on the planet.

Richard's talk is entitled "Cyber risk in the art world" and will consider

Key points:

  • current demands on the insurance market for the provision of fine art cover
  • use of information technology in the market and the exposures it presents
  • cyber-crime in the art world
  • a look at incidents and consideration as to why?
  • responses on the part of insurers and advisors

And points for consideration:

  • insurers are not keeping apace with developments
  • digital art sales are inadequately understood
  • sales of digital art will increase substantially in the next few years
  • risk and demand will increase in line with volume

The talk will take place at Moore's Hotel Wednesday 12 October at 12.30pm. Following a change to the price charged by Moore's, we are now charging £11 for members of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey and £13 for non-members.
