Members of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey and their guests are invited to attend a presentation by Sian Fisher, Chief Executive, the Chartered Insurance Institute, entitled:

A united profession: a vision for improved professionalism in the insurance sector

Sian’s presentation will provide a unique opportunity to hear at first hand of changes and developments in insurance education together with an insight into the continuing and ever-changing role of the Chartered Insurance Institute in delivering professional qualifications and maintaining standards of delivery within the sector. It is hoped that members and their guests will take this exceptional opportunity to hear at first hand from the CII’s Chief Executive during her first visit to Guernsey.

The seminar will commence from 0730 when continental breakfast will be served in the hotel’s Regency Room. Free seating will be on tables of ten; tables will not be pre-allocated. The seminar, which will include a question and answer session, will close at 0900.

Given the wider significance to the Island’s insurance and business sector in general this event is not restricted to IIG members. However, as demand to attend is expected to be significant, members will receive priority until noon on 5th May; thereafter attendance from non-members will be confirmed, if capacity permits. Attendance costs, payable on booking, are £10 for members of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey and £15 for non-member guests. Sian Fisher

Sian has been Chief Executive of the Chartered Insurance Institute, the leading international professional standards body for insurance, since February 2016. Her appointment followed a distinguished career in the sector, which has included senior roles at a Lloyd’s Syndicate, a UK and European insurance company, a market leading managing general agent, a major international broker and a US corporate.

Sian has also run her own start-up intermediary and was part of the creation of the Managing General Agents’ Association. She is also a Non-Executive Director at Asta Underwriting Management and Vice President of the Insurance Institute of London.

Sian is a graduate of Oxford University with an Exec MBA from Harvard and is a strong advocate for equality. She is a founding member and Executive Chair of the Insuring Women’s Futures initiative and a Committee Member of the Insurance Supper Club.
