Annual Dinner

The Duke of Richmond Hotel
Friday, 18 October 2019
6:30 pm – 12:45 am (UK time)

On behalf of our local Insurance Institute President, Manus Carvill, I would be delighted to receive your reservation to attend this year’s Annual Dinner at The Duke of Richmond Hotel on Friday 18 October 2019. This is a black tie event.

The evening will commence with welcome drinks served from 6.30pm in the downstairs Somerset bar, with guests being seated for dinner at 7.30pm. Following the pre-dinner speeches and dinner, this year’s entertainment is Tom Houghton. Tom has been hailed as a younger Jack Whitehall. (www.tomhoughtoncomedy.co.uk/about-me).

To quote Tom “I grew up on Military barracks all over England, Germany and Northern Ireland. I went to boarding school in the depths of Cumbria from the aged 6. For 9 years I was part of an improv comedy group called “The Noise Next door” (we weren’t half bad actually). I am now “riding solo” and currently living in The Tower of London. I’m from a very posh background. I’m trying to be humble about it, but it’s hard. Over Christmas I woke up and someone had put an ice skating rink in the moat!”

The entertainment will continue with music being provided by DJ Sounds, the well-known Guernsey DJ playing a mixture of music for all genres.

Carriages at 00.45hrs as there is a late licence.

The Institute’s Annual Dinner celebrates academic achievement of our members in their professional studies while seeking also to raise funds for the President’s nominated local charity which, this year, is the Guernsey Blind Association. During the evening a raffle will be held for the Insurance Charities and to raise funds for the Guernsey Blind Association.

We are also focusing on the fun side of the Institute and its members, we hope that you will all put on your dancing shoes and enjoy the evening. There will also be a Photo Booth which will be located in the downstairs bar throughout the evening to capture those fun moments.

We encourage those younger and newest members of the Institute to attend to get a chance to meet your colleagues in other areas of the industry.
