Our February speaker is Toby Birch who is a Senior Investment Manager for Gower Financial Services Limited.

Gower Financial Services is a Guernsey based financial services provider aiming to provide professional and high quality financial planning service for each and every one of its clients.

Toby Birch is a Chartered Wealth Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. He has been an investment manager since 1992 and runs the investment portfolios for the discretionary and advisory clients of Gower Financial Services. Toby began his career in London and was a fund manager at Old Mutual International. Following a transfer to their private client department in Guernsey he then worked at Bank Julius Baer and became a hedge fund manager at a private Family Office. He writes regular blogs on financial markets, precious metals and economic trends and was the author of a book in 2007 forecasting the credit crisis (The Final Crash). He is a Non-Executive Director of two Guernsey investment funds namely Golden Prospect Precious Metals and South River Guernsey which is owned by a Chinese conglomerate. He has been studying Mandarin for the past two years.

  • Repercussions and ‘ outlier’ outcomes from the above

The talk will take place at Moore's Hotel on Wednesday 20th February at 12.30pm. (£12 for members of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey and £14 for non-members). Please do remember that the attendance fee is payable whether lunch is taken or not.

Please feel free to encourage non-member colleagues to attend should this be an area of interest but, please note, members of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey will receive priority in the event of capacity being reached.

Attendance will provide 30 minutes of Structured CPD under the Chartered Insurance Institute's CPD scheme.
