>> Event Overview

Join us for a live yoga session in association with Bex Parker Smith Yoga.

Yoga has become increasingly popular in today’s society, providing a retreat from busy lives and allowing time to pause and focus on the mental and physical benefits of the practice.

To provide members with some space and time to focus on their mental health and wellbeing, Bex Parker Smith Yoga is offering IIG members a free to attend yoga session suitable for all abilities.

Anti-desk yoga is great for anyone who spends a lot of time at their desks (either at home or in the office) to release stress and tension that can build up over time. Suitable for all levels of yogis - from those who've never stepped on a mat, to those who spend the majority of their time upside down - Bex's classes are accessible to all. The ability to walk on your hands or bend yourself in two is not required to join; you don’t even need a mat!

Ensuring you have the following set up ahead of class will enhance your experience tenfold...

  • A laptop or screen big enough that you can see Bex
  • A space to practice, free from any obstacles
  • Clothes you can move in
  • A yoga mat or towel to practice on
  • A yoga block or a big book to use as a prop

If you are working with an injury or pregnancy that Bex should be aware of ahead of class, please let her know via email on bex@bexparkersmithyoga.com. Regrettably, this class is not suitable for anyone in the first trimester of pregnancy.

>> Learning Objectives

>> More about our speaker

Bex was 24 when she first stepped onto the mat and into herself. She fell in love. Yoga healed old wounds and protected against new ones. She learnt to be still, to be present, to be kind to herself.

To this day, no matter how she steps onto the mat, she always leave a little more in love with the practice and with the world, than before. That’s pretty special, and it's what led Bex to teach today.

(This is Bex’s recommended playlist if any attendees would like to practice with music. She recommends playing this off a separate device to the one you're using zoom with as otherwise it can interfere with audio.)
