Learning Objectives:

Statute and tort law constantly changes. This session is designed to look at changes over the past year and how the courts are interpreting, or may interpret those changes. We will look also at the state of play with consultation over the setting of the discount rate for damages for future losses, and how the evolution of the doctrine of vicarious liability is putting employers more at risk of criminal acts of their employees or sub-contractors. The case law will review cases that have recently come before the court in insurance and broker related issues.

Stephen King is a partner and Insurance Group lead at national law firm Mills & Reeve. A specialist in policy interpretation and professional indemnity law, particularly medical malpractice.
