The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be replacing the Data Protection Act in May and will have wide ramifications for all firms within the insurance sector and society as a whole. This presentation looks at this highly topical subject from an insurance perspective. Much has been written about this regulation but not all of it is appropriate for insurance.

  • Describe what the changes are how they will specifically affect the insurance market
  • Explain what the impact is on insurance customers and firms and the risks associated with the GDPR
  • Describe what firms should be doing in preparation for the changes

Speaker Profile:

Alan Chandler, Chartered Insurer, who is widely regarded as one of the UK's leading insurance trainers, will be delivering this presentation, suitable for Brokers, Underwriters, Claims staff and IFA's. Alan has undertaken operational management roles in three major global companies. NatWest Insurance Services, RBS Insurance Group and Allianz Insurance. He has run underwriting, broking and claims functions. Ten years ago he set up his own training company, something that he had always longed to do as he is passionate about training. Since then he has trained well over a thousand people to become ACII qualified including six individuals who have achieved the best ACII completion in the whole of the United Kingdom.

Time: Lunch will be available from 12.00pm, with the session starting at 12:30 and expected to close at 2:00pm
