  • How to calculate a simple B I loss
  • How to set an adequate Sum Insured

Speaker Profile: Mike Farrer

After joining the Orion insurance co in 1868 as a motor underwriter, a change came in 1971 when Mike joined Cornhill as a claims handler, and then went on in 1976 to become a Loss Adjuster. He dealt with all sorts of claims, and handled a scheme of Fish and Chip shop insurances. Fires were common, with associated B I losses, which came to be relatively simple. After a spell as a Fraud Investigator, there was finally an 18 month time in a call center, not taking phone calls, but instead he was the guru in the corner with all the answers! Now retired, his days are spent flying a small aeroplane, Working on Council education committee, and helping to improve literacy skills for migrants and those who missed out on reading while at school
