2023 Claims Conference and Mock Trial (All day)

A not to be missed all-day event with speakers from McLarens, Miller, Brawdia and Harrison Clark Rickerbys Limited.

Commencing with breakfast from 8am the main conference will start at 9am

Topics will include:

• Cyber Trends & Claims
• Escaping the problem: The surge in water damage claims during construction and how the industry is responding.
• Rising construction costs and the impact on value at risk.
• A mock trial that will simulate a real-life personal injury claim by a contractor against a construction company. As in most real-life disputes, the law will be important, but the core of the disagreement will be about the facts i.e., what happened and what its effects were. Some witnesses will be more credible than others. Both parties will have their strong points and their weak points. Ultimately, it will be up to the Judge to decide. You will be presented with footage and material which has been designed to give attendees a real understanding of the court process. This will involve a demonstration of how witness evidence and documentation is presented and challenged in court. Key participants, including the Judge and Counsel for each party, will be played by real-life legal professionals who will be well-equipped to give you an authentic trial experience. There will also be a bundle of documents which will help attendees understand the case and consider the evidence as the trial progresses.

This event is aimed at individuals who are responsible for the creation and implementation of health and safety strategy as well as those involved in claims, accident investigation, risk management, human resources and insurance.

Lunch included plus refreshments throughout the day.

There will also be a chance to network with other attendees after the main event.
