Elena will talk about the pros and cons of buying legal expenses insurance. At the end of the talk you will understand:

1. How costs work in civil proceedings.
2. What is legal expenses insurance and how does it work?
3. Other ways of managing litigation cost risk such as conditional fee arrangements, post the event insurance and litigation funders.

Elena Moran is a partner at Collas Crill, specialising in commercial and contentious trust litigation. She advises clients on a wide range of commercial disputes and acts for companies, trust companies and private individuals. She appears regularly in the Royal Court and Court of Appeal. Elena deals on a daily basis with the costs aspects of litigation and can explain how the costs of an action can become a bigger issue that the original dispute.
